The Kebaya or more correctly kain-kebaya is the traditional blouse-dress combination worn by women in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and some parts of Cambodia. It consists of a long-sleeve blouse sometimes made of sheer textile and worn with a batik skirt of uncut (kain panjang ) textile or sarong (fabric sewed to form a tube) which may also be other traditional textiles such as ikat, sumpat or songket. The kain-kebaya is indigenous to Indonesia and thus the National Costume of Indonesia, although more is accurately endemic to Central Java, spreading later to Sunda and Bali.
